3 STOPS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST:
SEATTLE – APRIL 14
PORTLAND – APRIL 18
ASTORIA, OR – APRIL 20
Drag superstar and Portland native EDIE returns home to the
Pacific Northwest with three stops on the tour of her new
show “Dance, Edie Dance!” Her first stop will be at the
La Faux Playhouse at Julias on Broadway in Seattle on
April 14th before heading to Portland on April 18th at the
legendary Darcelle XV Showplace. EDIE rounds out her tour
making her Astoria, OR debut at the Ten Fifteen Theater on
April 20th.
“DANCE, EDIE, DANCE!” Edie has heard those three words
her entire life. First from her parents insisting she perform for
guests in the living room of their family home in Portland, OR.
Then from her dance teacher who gave her the skills and the
confidence to take on the world. From Ballet to Broadway to
Cirque du Soleil, EDIE has taken those three words to heart.
“Dance, Edie, Dance” is a culmination of her love of life-long
love of dance and all the places her long legs have taken her
throughout her storied career. All live vocals combined with
her signature high-kicking choreography and her skilled off-
the-cuff banter with the audience prompted legendary queer
journalist Michael Musto to call Edie, “What a star!” and that
her show is ‘delectable from start to finish.”
EDIE is best known from Cirque du Soleil’s hit show
ZUMANITY where she starred as the emcee, the “Mistress of
Sensuality,” at the NY-NY Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
During her 13 year run, EDIE performed over 5,600 shows for
over 6 million people. EDIE began her professional dance
career at the age of 17 with Ballet Oregon. For the next
eleven years she danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet
Chicago, and Pennsylvania Ballet before moving to New York
to pursue musical theater. EDIE quickly became a fixture in
New York City where she racked up a bevy of awards
including Best Drag Queen (HX Award), Best Dance Artist
and Entertainer of the Year (Glammy Award). She starred in
her autobiographical, off-Broadway show “LEGS!,”
performed on the MTV Video Music Awards, appeared on
“Sex and the City,” was featured at Wigstock and Broadway
Bares, and made her Broadway debut alongside Cyndi
Lauper and Alan Cumming in the Tony-nominated revival of
“The ThreePenny Opera” at Studio 54. The San Francisco
Chronicle “strongly advises seeing the incredible EDIE whose
talent and legs go on forever.”
