A TRAILBLAZING QUEER ICON RETURNS TO THE MIC
A groundbreaking pop legend is back in a big way. This August, multihyphenate singer,
songwriter, and actor Jim Verraros will debut the much-anticipated EP Explicit, his first new
set in 14 years. The six-track release heralds the premiere of four sexy, sweaty new singles:
“Move/On,” “Good Boy,” “Blow,” and “Scandal,” each a perfect complement to the sultry
dog days of summer. The scorching new material finds Jim continuing to build on the
momentum of the recent chart smashes “Take My Bow” and “Pyramid,” both of which
became U.K. dance club staples following their release, and to refine his creative voice
three decades into his celebrated career. Jim first became a household name as a beloved
fan favorite on the first season of American Idol, becoming the first former contestant to
publicly come out as queer. His acclaimed 2005 record Rollercoaster — which recently
celebrated its 20th anniversary — and winsome performance in the Eating Out film series
proved that he’s a versatile performer with a boundless depth of talent. With the release of
Explicit, Jim is ready to again show the world what he can do.
Explicit will debut across streaming platforms on August 8, 2025.
