The Pride and joy in my life is my longlisting and meaningful relationships I have with my Family, my friends. and my friends that are family. and My Oliver!
What do you feel thankful for about our community?
What I am thankful for most about our community is how resilient and creative we are while providing the safest possible place for people both young and older to be their authentic selves.
Who inspires you to make a difference in the world?
Both of my mom(s)! My Mommy Judy Wadsworth is a fierce pioneer for the elder community and tirelessly advocates for them and their family members. She teaches loved ones of people with dementia how to speak and deal with the new reality that the people they care about are now experiencing. Invaluable. My Mama Bernedette Bascom. My music Mama. Aside from helping us be better singers and performers. A few of us are very successful and she has played a very large part in that success for us all. She has found and created her greatest calling. Bernedette is the creator and facilitator of “SPEAK” music as language. It helps all non-verbal people learn how to speak through her patented program. She has won an Emmy for this, and October 11th has now been proclaimed as Bernedette Bascome day for the city of Bothell. As you can see, I have two incredible female inspirations making a real difference in this world.
What are the dreams you still want to accomplish?
i want to create a show with all the incredible Dance Divas and myself and perform a celebration tour of all the best around the world. Also buy my house in Spain.
What hopes do you want to see come true for the younger generation?
My hopes for the younger generations are the same hopes I think the generation before me had. I want them to be better than us. Use what we have accomplished, learned, and screwed up and just be better. I have my nieces and nephews proving to me every day that this can happen.
How do you stay grateful for what you have?
Staying grateful for what I have is so easy for me. I have such great love and support from the community. And that’s the whole community. Friends. Family. and the LGBTIA+ with that kind of support how can I not be grateful?
What encourages you to make tomorrow better than today?
What encourages me to make tomorrow a better day. Is when today seems to suck. LOL—there’s always a new opportunity to change a reaction or shift a narrative.
What is one thing you are proud of yourself for?
I am proud of never giving up on myself or my dreams. I am proud of The good person, friend, and family member I am.
